Sept. 24, 2012 -- William E. “Bill” Cahill Jr., a former president of the Illinois Association of REALTORS® who pushed for legislation that required continuing education training for real estate professionals, died Sunday. He was 76.
Cahill was association president in 1989, and had served as president of the Chicago Association of REALTORS® in 1983-84. Cahill had served on numerous IAR committees and as a director for the National Association of REALTORS®.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Kristan Funeral Home, 219 W. Maple Ave., in Muldelein, Ill. A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Queen of All Saints Basilica in Chicago, with internment in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Cahill ran a real estate business originally founded by his grandfather in 1900 which later became Century 21/Cahill Brothers.
Cahill is survived by daughters, Margaret Warzecha and Mary Carol Sullivan, and a son, William Cahill III.
