Illinois Marks Two Years of Home Sales Gains in June

The Illinois housing market continued to improve in June as home sales climbed 14.9 percent and the statewide median price rose 9.7 percent to $170,000, a three-year high, according to the IAR housing report released Monday. U of I economist Dr. Geoff Hewings said rising prices signal movement toward a more stable market while foreclosures, long a drain on the recovery, are moving more quickly toward pre-recession levels.
