The number of young adults under 35 who are living at home is at its highest level since 1981. When those individuals move toward home ownership, it would boost sales by 200,000, according to NAR research.
The existing-housing market has seen steady sales and price gains and the chief economist for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) said new home construction also is expecting a strong recovery in 2014 and 2015.
