Illinois REALTORS® members have a commitment to sharing and learning about other cultures in addition to encouraging organizational leadership opportunities that reflect the diversity of the membership.

Each year the Business Diversity Working Group makes recommendations on how to better position REALTORS® to thrive in an international economy. The group works with real estate organizations and a diverse membership to hold a Multicultural Summit annually and promotes resources for REALTORS® who understand that Global is the New Local.

Working on Your Behalf for Global Engagement

In an effort to expand the scope of global engagement, Illinois REALTORS® has launched the Consulate General Liaison Program. Created as a sub-group of the association's Global Business Council, the program is uniquely designed to help position the REALTOR® community as a leading source for service and information for a growing global clientele.

Modeled after the NAR Federal Political Coordinator program and the Illinois REALTORS® State Legislative Contact Program, the Consulate General Liaison Program has a bit of a different twist: the association has named several members who have a history in working with Consulates General on programming, trade missions, outreach, etc. These members have the potential to create more robust relationships with prominent officials representing their home countries in Illinois.
